Troubleshooting

  • Check your spam, junk or promotions folder.
  • Make sure you typed your email address correctly.
  • Codes expire after 5 minutes. Request a new one.

“Continue with Passkey” doesn’t appear

Section titled ““Continue with Passkey” doesn’t appear”

Your browser or device doesn’t support passkeys, or you haven’t added one yet. Sign in another way, then add a passkey in Settings.

  • Make sure you connected GitHub with the account that has access to the repository.
  • If the repository belongs to an organisation, the organisation may need to approve GH Planner. Ask an organisation owner.
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting GitHub in Settings.

If the task page says Unable to load PR information or The PR may be private or the URL may be invalid:

  • Check the link points to a real pull request, in the form https://github.com/owner/repo/pull/123.
  • Make sure your connected GitHub account can see the repository.
  • Reconnect GitHub in Settings if your connection may have expired.

“Comment saved, but GitHub sync failed”

Section titled ““Comment saved, but GitHub sync failed””

Your comment is saved in GH Planner but couldn’t be posted to GitHub. Usually your GitHub connection has expired or doesn’t have access to the repository. Reconnect GitHub and post again.

Review actions run as you on GitHub, so GitHub’s rules apply:

  • You can’t approve or request changes on your own pull request.
  • Merging fails if required checks haven’t passed, required reviews are missing, there are merge conflicts, or the PR is a draft.
  • You need write access to the repository to merge or close.

The error message from GitHub is shown in GH Planner.

  • Check the task has a linked pull request (look for the PR badge).
  • Check the board has a column of the right type, for example a PR Merged Column for merged PRs. Column names don’t matter; types do.
  • Reopen the board. GH Planner checks linked PRs every time a board is opened.

Pull request columns only accept tasks with a linked PR. Link one first.

The board only accepts pull requests from its configured repository. Link a PR from that repository, or change the repository in Board Settings.

The board has reached the Free plan’s 10 linked pull requests. Unlink some, or upgrade to Pro.

The board is probably Private. Change it to Semi-Private in Board Settings → Board Visibility, or invite the person as a member. See Board visibility.

The link may be out of date or the board may have been deleted. Ask a board owner for a fresh link.
